I work in a representational contemporary style, but my paintings often include elements of pulp cover art and paintings based on subjects influenced by film, mythology, urban legend, and folklore. The city at night has always intrigued me as well, and I find myself returning to the subject again and again.
Although I do paint traditional landscapes, I sometimes transpose the mythology of another time and place into the Midwestern landscape. My most recent work includes Impressionistic paintings of night city scenes and the urban landscape ...“Traditional with a Twist”, as I call it.
